Scholarships for AHMA Members

Since 2003, AHMA East Texas has awarded $90,000 in educations scholarships to deserving residents of affordable housing. This year, for the first time, AHMA is offering one or more scholarships for site-level employees (or their immediate family members) that may be used for post-secondary education at accredited colleges, universities or vocational schools.

AHMA East Texas Employee Scholarship
$2,000 Scholarship available

This scholarship, funded through the generosity of AHMA East Texas Members, is available to employees or their immediate families (spouse or children) of housing properties that are members in good standing of AHMA East Texas.

►Application Packet

Each scholarship applicant must be an employee (or immediate family member) of an AHMA East Texas member property. Membership must be in good standing as of the date of the scholarship application. Immediate family is defined as the spouse, dependent child, or legal ward of the AHMA Member Employee. In addition, each applicant must submit a complete AHMA East Texas 2008 Member Scholarship Application Form along with the required letters of recommendation. It is very important that applicants follow all instructions contained in the application form.

Scholarship Deadline is March 31, 2008
All completed applications must be received in the AHMA East Texas office by this date.

Scholarship Announcements: May 15, 2008
Scholarship awards will be announced on this date. Funding dates will be specified in each individual award. Final scholarship awards are contingent upon the recipient's acceptance at an accredited educational instiution prio to the actual funding date. If a Recipient has not been accepted by that date, the scholarship will be revoked.
